Barry Frett represents clients in a variety of complex civil litigations, from both plaintiff-side and defense-side antitrust class actions to litigation focused on corporate law issues such as veil piercing, contractual disputes, fiduciary duties, intellectual property, and fraud.
An analytical and creative thinker, Barry is a strong writer and effective advocate, skilled in conducting thorough legal research, distilling the facts, assessing the law, identifying key issues, and assessing case strengths and weaknesses. Armed with these skills, he finds inventive ways to use case law and other legal authorities to his clients’ advantage.
A former law clerk to the Honorable D. Brooks Smith, former Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Barry joined Sperling Kenny Nachwalter from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he worked as a litigation associate. Combining “big law” experience with the knowledge and perspective gained as a law clerk, Barry excels in readily knowing which arguments will work in court and which will not. Then he crafts compelling briefs with cogent presentations of facts and legal analysis.
