Paul Bateman represents small and large corporations, nonprofits, and individuals in complex disputes in federal and state courts and before administrative bodies. He has successfully represented plaintiffs, defendants, and third parties in litigation involving commercial, constitutional, criminal, and administrative matters.
Throughout his career, Paul has litigated high-value, high-profile matters. For more than a decade, Paul has planned for success while remaining prepared for contingencies.

Before joining Sperling Kenny Nachwalter, Paul worked for two Am Law-listed firms and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sara L. Ellis of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Representative Matters
Represented client in federal courts, securing client’s construction project in Chicago, Illinois.
Appearing before the Illinois Courts Commission, proved a judge’s misconduct and obtained the judge’s removal from the bench.
Served as a member of a special prosecutor team handling an investigation that involving allegations of perjury and official misconduct.
Served as a member of the team that managed the response to hundreds of subpoenas from a state agency investigating potential fraud on the state by third parties.
Served on the federal court litigation and appellate teams that won a judgment for unjust enrichment and an award of assets worth more than $100 million.
